Frequently asked questions.

Yes. No account needed. No upsell. No "premium tier" behind an export button. We monetize with a maximum of three standard display ads per page — never between your input and your result.
Each course's letter grade or percentage is converted into grade points on the 4.0 scale (5.0 if weighted). Each course's grade points are multiplied by its credits, those are summed, and the total is divided by total credits. The calculator shows the math line by line if you expand the result card.
Unweighted treats every course the same on a 4.0 scale. Weighted adds extra points for advanced courses (typically +0.5 for Honors, +1.0 for AP/IB), allowing GPAs above 4.0. Most US colleges see both.
No. Everything stays in your browser. If you choose "Save profile", the data is stored locally on your device via your browser's storage — never sent to any server.
Yes, and it is the intended primary experience. The site is designed mobile-first, tested down to 320 pixels wide.
Yes, both. The homepage calculator handles college-style credit hours. For high school specifics (AP/IB/Honors weights, 4.0 vs 5.0 toggle), use the dedicated High School GPA page.
The calculator supports 4.0, 4.3, 5.0, and custom scales. If your school uses an unusual point system, you can edit the weight values directly.
